Smart Lighting Troubleshooting
Applies to: CACD (Dimmer) · CACDSW (Dimmer Switch) · CACR (Relay) · CACRSW (Relay Switch) · CRFL# (Wireless Light Switch) · CL5DW / CL5B22 / CL5E27 (Smart Downlights and Bulbs)
Dimmer not responding to commands
The CACD dimmer does not respond to app, switch, or schedule commands.
Steps to resolve:
- Ensure the COCBH Smart Hub is powered and connected to the network
- Re-pair the CACD: press and hold the pair button on the CACD module, then initiate pairing in the iZone app under Devices → Add Device
- Check the RF antenna on the CACD is screwed in tightly and pointing up
- Ensure the CACD is within RF range of the COCBH — add a CR Wireless Repeater if needed
Lights not dimming smoothly
The lights flicker, jump between brightness levels, or cannot dim below a certain level.
Steps to resolve:
- Verify the connected globes are compatible dimmable LEDs — not all LED globes support phase-cut dimming
- Check the maximum load is not exceeded (1A / ~200W)
- Ensure no ceiling fans are connected to the CACD — ceiling fan motor speed cannot be controlled by a dimmer
- If the minimum dim level is too high, adjust the minimum brightness setting in the iZone app: Devices → CACD → Settings → Minimum Level
Relay not switching
The CACR relay does not activate or deactivate when commanded.
Steps to resolve:
- Confirm the COCBH Smart Hub is powered and online
- Re-pair the CACR module using the same procedure as the CACD above
- Check the antenna is attached and pointing up
- Verify the connected load does not exceed the relay's rated capacity
Wireless light switch (CRFL#) not controlling lights
The CRFL# switch presses are not triggering the linked CACD or CACR.
Steps to resolve:
- Check the CRFL# battery — if the LED does not flash when the switch is pressed, replace the battery (CR2032)
- Ensure the CRFL# is paired with the correct CACD or CACR module via Devices → Wireless Switches
- Confirm both devices are within RF range of each other and the Smart Hub
- Re-pair the CRFL# if it was previously linked to a different device
Smart downlight or bulb (CL5#) not responding
A CL5DW, CL5B22, or CL5E27 does not respond to app commands.
Steps to resolve:
- Check the globe is screwed in fully and the fitting is powered
- Reset the globe by switching the mains power off and on 5 times rapidly — the globe should flash to confirm a factory reset
- Re-add the globe in the iZone app: Devices → Add Device and follow the pairing instructions
- Ensure the Smart Hub is online and the globe is within Wi-Fi range
Roller blind (CACRB) not moving
The CACRB roller blind motor does not respond to open/close commands.
Steps to resolve:
- Confirm the CACRB is powered and the COCBH Smart Hub is online
- Re-pair the CACRB module in the iZone app
- Check that the blind's travel limits have been set during commissioning — if not set, the motor may not move
- Verify the blind is not physically obstructed
Security — garage door (CGDK) not operating
The CGDK wireless garage door opener does not trigger the garage door.
Steps to resolve:
- Confirm the COCBH Smart Hub is powered and the CGDK is paired
- Verify the CGDK is wired correctly to the garage door's dry contact input terminals
- Check the battery in the CGDK wireless transmitter (CR2032)
- Test the dry contact function by manually bridging the terminals — if the door responds, the wiring is correct and the CGDK may need re-pairing
Reed switch (CRS) not reporting state
The CRS does not show the correct open/closed state in the app.
Steps to resolve:
- Confirm the COCBH Smart Hub is powered and the CRS is paired
- Ensure the magnet is within 10mm of the reed switch body when the door/window is closed
- Replace the CRS battery (CR2032) if the LED does not flash when the magnet is moved away
Smart plug (CGPO) not responding
The CGPO smart plug does not switch on or off when commanded.
Steps to resolve:
- Confirm the COCBH Smart Hub is powered and online
- Ensure the plug is in a powered GPO and re-pair if needed: press and hold the pair button on the CGPO
- Check whether a schedule or recipe is overriding manual commands
Irrigation controller (CRCT) not triggering zones
The CRCT irrigation controller does not activate watering zones.
Steps to resolve:
- Confirm the COCBH Smart Hub is powered and the CRCT is paired
- Verify the irrigation valve wiring is correct for the zone being tested
- Test each zone from the iZone app manually: Devices → CRCT → Manual Run
- Ensure the mains water supply is on and the valves are not mechanically stuck
